Kite Festival
Following the previous festival seasons, at Hue Festival 2018, hundreds of kites, large and small, from the Kite Club of Hue Cultural Center and Anh Vu Kite Club, showed their beauty in the sky of the Ancient Capital.
The clear blue sky became more beautiful by colorful wings of kites like a symbol of peace and freedom. The kites slowly took off and flew with the wind, the mighty dragons, supreme phoenixes, gorgeous peacocks, lovely butterflies, and shiny school of fish, etc. All of these created a magnificent aerial stage.
Flashmob dances
Dance activities to welcome Hue Festival always attract the participation of young people. The flashmob events at Hue Festival 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 created an interesting and exciting pre-festivity booster for Hue Festival.
International Beer Festival
The International Beer Festival 2018 was full of exciting entertainment activities, musical performances with famous singers and producers, namely Toc Tien, Ngo Kien Huy, Issac, Huong Tram, Erik, Miu Le, DJ Minh Tri, Hoang Touliver.
Audiences experienced and immersed themselves in the lively space of music and fascinating games while enjoying special dishes and fine beers.
Accompanying Hue Festival through many seasons, Hue Beer Festival is a fringe activity which always receives the enthusiastic interest of residents and tourists.
Traditional Sampan Racing
The Traditional Sampan Racing on the Perfume River was an attractive sport event which contributed to the excitement of Hue Festival.
18 racing teams represented 9 districts and cities with tradition of sampan racing. The local rowers born and grew up along the Perfume River rushed into the game with determination to bring awards for their locality.
Sampan racing in Thua Thien Hue is regarded as the oldest sport in the local history, which associates with daily life on the rivers and always be encouraged by its local people. This boat race is also a time when the younger generation of boys and girls in the villages sharpen their paddling skills to cope with extreme weather changes.
There are also many festivities and community cultural activities held annually as side events to Hue Festival, which offers special features and exhilarating experience waiting for visitors to come and explore.
