“VnExpress Marathon – VM Hue 2020” competition is jointly organized by VnExpress and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on September 06 with an aim to open up a healthy playground for marathon lovers. The marathon race is organized for the first time in the ancient and poetic Hue city, and expected to attract over 4,000 competitors.
This program is one of the promotional activities of Hue Festival 2020 to stimulate tourism demand in the post-COVID-19 period. The Organizing Committee wants to encourage young people to practice jogging and sports to improve their immune system and resistance against risks of illness, and receive many other benefits.
There are 4 distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. The competition will be commenced and open for registration from November 18, 2019. It will take place at 3 a.m. on September 06, 2020 at Phu Van Lau, Hue City.
The longest distance is 42km starting at Phu Van Lau; running through Le Loi, Le Duan, Ly Nam De, Van Xuan and Kim Long streets to Thien Mu Pagoda, runners will experience many beautiful places, streets with several green trees, and famous landscapes of Hue . There are routes that bear the ancient beauty, cross the modern area, or allow runners to slow down and enjoy the countryside scenery. In addition, runners and their families can go sightseeing, shopping, and experience the cuisine and culture of the Ancient Capital.
