SUP is a modern surfing sport that can take place  on various types of water from rivers and calm lakes to stormy beaches and waterfalls. After the success of the first SUP Race in Vietnam on the Huong River in 2018, SUP racing has flourished in Hue, giving birth to a new fascinating entertainment and tourism service.

As an activity in response to the Summer Festivals of Hue Festival 2022, the 2020 Hue SUP Race will consist of 3 competition formats: The Long Course Race is 6km long, starting from the pier in the ironwood pedestrian bridge, going along Huong River towards Dam Da - Vy Da around Hen Islet and returning to the starting point. Race Kid: for participants from 8 to 16 years old, starting from Toa Kham Pier, cross to the other riverside, then returning to the starting point; Sprint: only 200m but participants must row on a zigzag path around the pier area, more suitable for participants with physical strength, skills and experience.

Not only limited to SUP athletes from all over the country to compete, the race is also an opportunity for all SUP lovers in Vietnam to gather, meet and share their love for this exciting sport, encouraging more participation in sports and health improvement activities, and environment protection by using SUP as a vehicle for picking up trash along the river.
